This is the 4th album I've released this month, but I really did work on this one a lot. I've been sitting on some of these tracks for two years. I was thinking a lot about sounds that British new wave bands were making back in the day... and maybe some random people in Russia, also.

I wasn't inspired by specific things, so much as by feelings about non-specific things. I also want to mention that Kool Keith is great, but just because that isn't ever said enough.

The last song on the album is, however, dedicated to the movie Young Tiger, which sort of stars Jackie Chan as a semi-minor character. The song isn't about him, but it is about a taxi cab that is in the movie. It just encompasses what I think it would be like to be in a taxi in the 1970s in China; especially one driving across an establishing shot, randomly, in an incredibly shitty kung fu movie. There is a taxi in the movie that is central to the plot, but the song isn't about that taxi, it is about a different one.

The album is made for dancing. Each song is a bit different so you can spend your 23 minutes trying out different moves. Mix and match. Show off your stuff!

I put together all the synth sounds myself, and a laboriously arpeggiated all the songs, and mixed it all, too. I did this here in Victoria BC Canada.
